Why concision reads as confidence
Every extra word costs the reader effort — and hedges quietly signal that you're not sure. “I just wanted to quickly check if maybe we could possibly…” tells the reader you expect to be brushed off. “Can we move the review to Thursday?” tells them you expect an answer.
Concision lowers cognitive load and raises perceived authority at the same time. At senior levels especially, less is more: the tightest version of a message is usually the most credible one.
